liMga puraaNa

liMga or s'iva-liMga is an icon of Lord s'iva and this puraaNa propagates the worship of Lord s'iva. The topics discussed include the five aspects of s'iva namely sadyoojaata, vaamadeeva, tatpuruSa, aghoora and iis'aana, the manifestation of s'iva in aSTamuurti-s (eight forms), s'iva appearing as a huge pillar of fire to brahma and viSNu, vyaasa and his disciples, stories of dadhiici and s'ilaada, the four yuga-s (epochs), worship of naMdi, suurya-vaMs'a and caMdra-vaMs'a dynasties, vrata-s, s'iva-paMcaakSara maMtra and mRtyuMjaya maMtra, kaas'i kSeetra, music, daana-s, establishing s'iva-liMga-s.
